Reliable Outboard Repair Services in the Clear Lake Area

Hey everyone, I wanted to kick off a thread for those of us who rely heavily on dependable outboard repair and service, especially heading into peak boating season. I recently brought my boat in for some mid-season repairs—issues with throttle response and an odd rattle from the lower unit—and ended up taking it to the Boat Repair Center at Clear Lake. I was seriously impressed. They didn’t just guess what was wrong—they ran diagnostics, showed me what parts had wear, and explained the fix before touching anything. What really stood out was how organized and clean their service area was. Plus, they offer weekend repairs, which is a lifesaver if something goes wrong after Friday. Anyone else used them for Suzuki outboards or general rigging issues? Would love to hear how they handled more extensive repairs, or if you’ve had experience with their storage or emergency services too.

Jumping in to say +1 to everything above. I had a full tune-up done there on my Suzuki DF140 after 300 hours—spark plugs, thermostat, filters, oil, gear lube, and zincs. All done quickly and with clear paperwork. I also had some minor rigging issues with my control cables, and they diagnosed a hidden kink in one of the runs that was causing intermittent throttle stiffness. No other shop had found it. Their techs really seem to take pride in their work. I haven’t used the storage yet, but I did ask about it—they said they offer both wet slips and dry stack depending on the season. It’s definitely worth considering if you want your boat kept somewhere safe between outings or prepped for storms. If you’re in the Clear Lake area, I think this is one of the few service centers where you’ll get factory-level detail without the dealership markup.
