Sports Clubs & Local Associations Explained
Sports Clubs & Local Associations are a great cost effective way of mixing a great stopover with helping local communities. Many of these stops have basic facilities like toilets and waste disposal, with club bars and even food service in many venues, making sports clubs & local associations amazing places to spend a day or two.

Sports Club Stopovers
There are lots of sports clubs that allow overnight stays all throughout the UK, from rugby to cricket, sailing to mountain bike trials.

What could be better than parking up, getting a beer from the clubhouse and watching some sports from the comfort of your van.

Sports clubs are generally low cost and all of the money made goes straight into the clubs coughers, many sports stops have a bar, serve food and have basic facilities for waste.

Local Associations
Village halls, local harbours, community campsites and more are open to overnight stays for campervans & motorhomes all over the UK.

These stopovers also tend to have facilities like waste disposal, toilets and showers to make your stay more comfortable.

Like sports clubs, local associations are a low cost option with the added bonus of the revenue that is raised from your stay benefits the community directly and helps to keep these places open.

How do I find stopovers?
Our team have created an interactive map listing thousands of these stopovers across the UK!

We have also included campsites, waste points, water points, showers, toilets, laundrys, LPG sales/swaps and much more.

We didn't stop after the UK, our map covers Europe too!
What to know before you go?
Here's a few things to know before you go...

CHECK SERVICES AND PLAN AHEAD - If you are not fully self sufficient on board and require services such as toilets, electricity or waste disposal check if the venue offers the service before travelling so you can plan ahead.

LEAVE NO TRACE (LNT) - Always remember to leave no trace when you depart from parking locations, this includes disposing of grey and black waste responsibly at designated locations only, take only memories and leave only tyre tracks.

NO CAMPING BEHAVIOUR - Do not exhibit camping behaviour at sports or local association spots unless given permission by the venue owner or information board at the venue, this includes using awnings, BBQ's, outdoor cookers, camping chairs/furniture , fire pits or other camping equipment. Behaving in this manner will harm the vanlife community image and will ultimately lead to the closure of parking spaces that are abused in this way.
