Bredy Farm

Bredy Farm is a vibrant, family-run working farm nestled in the picturesque Bride Valley along Dorset’s scenic Jurassic Coast, just on the outskirts of Burton Bradstock. Operating as an adults-only rustic campsite from Easter through September, the farm has earned a reputation for combining a laid-back rural escape with an energetic, party-friendly atmosphere. It is widely celebrated for its on-site Italian restaurant, home-produced craft ciders, microbrewery, and lively weekend live music events.

Motorhome and Campervan Stopovers

Bredy Farm actively welcomes live-in vehicles, but the setup depends heavily on the size of your rig. Note that sleeping in standard cars is strictly forbidden—vehicles must be purpose-built campervans or motorhomes with fitted sleeping and cooking/washing facilities. 

The site is split into two main camping areas flanking the River Bride: 

• The Mead: This is the designated field for larger motorhomes and campervans over 5 metres in length. It is a larger, much flatter field with trees framing the borders, making it easy to manoeuvre larger rigs. 

• The Orchard: This scenic field is dotted with apple trees and overlooks the farm's grazing cattle. Due to its tighter layout, varying levels, and hidden nooks, it is strictly limited to smaller campervans under 5 metres. 

• Vibe Warning: If you prefer absolute peace and quiet, stay mid-week (Sunday to Thursday). Every Friday and Saturday night, the farm transforms into a very lively venue with music, bars, and DJs operating until 2:00 AM, which creates a festival-style atmosphere. 

Farm Facilities

The facilities at Bredy Farm lean toward a rustic, back-to-basics style: 

• Power: All camping pitches are non-electric. 

• Toilets: There are three portable toilets, four composting toilets scattered across the fields, and two traditional flushing toilets located in the main farmyard. 

• Showers: The Mead features three rustic, free-to-use shower units. The main farmyard offers two modern, hot showers which are coin-operated at a rate of roughly £1 for 3 minutes. 

• Water & Waste: Drinking water taps are available, alongside basic cold-water washing-up stations for cleaning dishes.

• Fires: Well-seasoned bags of logs from The Cider Shed or The Rattle Shack for £10 + free kindling if requested. They have some complimentary fire-pits on both campsites but they are in short supply so we always recommended you bring your own.  We cannot reserve these for you.

• Pets: Well-behaved dogs are allowed on site.

Dining and Drinking On-Site

For a rustic campsite, the food and beverage offerings are exceptionally high-quality:

• The Parlour Café and Restaurant: Located right in the heart of the farmyard, this highly-rated eatery serves up authentic Italian-Mediterranean dishes. It features an open kitchen, a sun-drenched indoor-outdoor terrace, and is famous for its fresh Neapolitan-style pizzas and popular Sunday porchetta roasts. Booking ahead is highly recommended.

• Talbot Harris Brewing Co.: Bredy Farm produces its own craft beverages on-site. You can sample their famous home-pressed ciders—including 'Sweet Jesus' (medium sweet) and 'Monika Lewinsky' (medium dry)—or try 'UNO!', an IPA crafted in their own microbrewery.

• The Cider Shed & The Rattle Shack: These are the farm's unique weekend bar venues. The Cider Shed is an intimate space draped in lush grapevines, while The Rattle Shack is an incredible multi-level "beach-barn" complete with an island bar, a massive stage, and a sand dance floor. 

Local Information

• The Beaches: You are ideally situated just a 1.5-mile walk or 5-minute drive from the dramatic National Trust beaches of the Jurassic Coast, including Burton Bradstock beach and the western end of Chesil Beach.

• Walking: The site provides easy access to the South West Coast Path and multiple walking routes through the lush Bride Valley countryside.

• Local Villages & Supplies: The chocolate-box village of Burton Bradstock is right down the road and features excellent local pubs like The Three Horseshoes. For larger supermarkets (like Lidl), fuel, and cash points, the vibrant market town of Bridport is a 10-to-15-minute drive away. Note that phone signals and card machine connections can be temperamental in this part of West Dorset, so carrying some backup cash is highly recommended.
