Newgale Campsite is a premier beachfront camping destination established in 1935, situated directly inside the breathtaking Pembrokeshire Coast National Park. Located a mere 20 to 40 metres away from a stunning 2-mile stretch of golden sands, it provides spectacular coastal views and immediate access to the famed Pembrokeshire Coast Path.
Spanning a spacious 9 acres, this family-friendly site expertly balances the wild charm of open coastal camping with modern infrastructure. The campground is thoughtfully divided into a pet-free field and a dog-friendly area to suit all types of travellers.
Motorhome and Campervan Info
The site warmly welcomes touring vehicles of varying sizes:
Unmarked Non-Electric Grass Pitches: Great for flexible campervan setups, allowing groups to park together.
Standard Electric Grass Pitches: Feature a 10-amp electric hookup with set 12m x 6m boundaries for vehicles up to 10m long.
Fully Serviced Electric Pitches: Deliver 10-amp electric hookups paired with private fresh drinking water taps.
Large Electric Pitches: Spacious 9m x 12m pitches configured for oversized motorhomes up to 12m in length.
Service Points: Equipped with a chemical disposal point and a dedicated motorhome service point.
Important Restrictions: Pre-booking is required for all electric pitches. Twin-axle vehicles are strictly accepted by prior arrangement only.
On-Site Facilities
The site owners have continuously updated the infrastructure to provide excellent amenities:
Main Amenity Block: Modern separate male and female toilets alongside a dedicated parent & baby washroom.
Showers: Hot showers cost 20p for 2 minutes or £1 for 10 minutes (accepts 20p or £1 coins only). A cold outdoor shower is available to wash away beach sand.
Launderette & Dishwashing: Features a communal indoor dishwashing area and a laundry room with washers and dryers.
Off-Grid Extras: Free-to-use communal freezers keep ice packs cold, and a secure smartphone charging kiosk is available for £1 per hour.
Connectivity: Free Wi-Fi is accessible throughout the site, with the strongest coverage located around the reception area.
Fire Pits: Raised campfires and charcoal BBQs are permitted; fire pits are available to hire with logs sold at reception.
Dining and Refreshments
Campers don't have to venture off-site to find food, real ale, or a lively holiday atmosphere:
The Landsker Line Bistro Bar: An exceptional on-site addition serving breakfast rolls, light snacks, coffee, and ice cream during the day, before switching to local Pembrokeshire ales, ciders, and stouts in the evening. It includes sports TVs and hosts live music events during peak season weekends.
Summer Food Trucks: During peak summer months and school holidays, the site hosts pop-up food trucks, including an on-site woodfired pizza van operating late into the evening.
Local Area Information
Positioned ideally between key Pembrokeshire destinations, there is plenty to explore right from your pitch:
Newgale Beach: A 2-mile sandy paradise right across the road, perfect for surfing, kayaking, kite surfing, and rockpooling.
The Pembrokeshire Coast Path: Passes directly by the campsite entrance. Hikers can walk north towards the remote tidal cove of Porth Mynawyd (1 hour) or south to Nolton Haven Beach (55 minutes).
Local Villages & Towns: The charming fishing village of Solva is just a 9-minute drive away, while the historic cathedral city of St Davids and the market town of Haverfordwest are both reachable within 15 minutes.
Supplies & Groceries: While there is no major shop on site, a Costcutter convenience store is a 5-minute drive away. For larger supermarkets (Aldi, Lidl, Morrisons), Haverfordwest is a 13 to 15-minute drive.
Nearby Pubs: If you fancy a change from the on-site bar, The Victoria Inn at Roch is a 2-minute drive (or 1-hour countryside walk) and operates its own microbrewery. In Solva, The Hats & Barrels offers seasonal Welsh dishes and local seafood.
