Motorhome & Campervan Stopover Details

Angus Council formally permits controlled overnight parking at Inchcape Park. However, specific regulations are enforced to ensure fair use and safety.

  • Stay Limits: Stays are strictly limited to one night only

  • Vehicle Types: The stopover is restricted solely to self-contained motorhomes and campervans. Tents, caravans, trailers, awnings, or canopies are not permitted.

  • Pricing: The dedicated seafront parking spots are completely free of charge

  • Spacing & Capacity: There are roughly 10 designated bays. Drivers must maintain a safe four-metre distance between vehicles and ensure they do not park past the designated "No Motorhomes" boundary signs.

  • Site Rules: To mitigate fire hazards, outdoor cooking, fires, barbecues, and generators are strictly banned.

On-Site Facilities

Inchcape Park operates primarily as a basic, "no-frills" wild-style stopover.

  • Waste Disposal: There are no chemical toilet disposal (CDP) or greywater waste facilities on site. Standard bins are available for general litter and dog waste.

  • Hookups & Water: There is no electricity (EHU) or fresh water supply available.

  • Toilets: There are no dedicated restrooms directly on the tarmac. Public toilets can be accessed a short walk away near the harbour or at the Arbroath iCentre.

Nearby Dining & Supermarkets

Because the park lacks cooking provisions, visitors heavily rely on the excellent food scene just a 5 to 10-minute walk away:

  • Arbroath Smokies: You can buy authentic, wood-smoked haddock fresh from traditional smokehouses right next to the harbour quay.

  • Sit-Down Restaurants: The Old Boatyard Restaurant sits on Fishmarket Quay and serves locally sourced Scottish seafood. The Port Kitchen offers great daytime meals, while The Bellrock Restaurant is highly rated for traditional fish and chips.

  • Supermarkets: A Lidl supermarket and a wider retail park sit within a short walking distance for easy vehicle re-stocking.
