The inn provides excellent overnight facilities on its large, flat, hardstanding car park. It accommodates vehicles both under and over 6 metres in length, offering a convenient base for exploring North Wales.

  • Pricing & Hookups: A standard overnight stay costs £10 per night without electricity. Electric hookup (EHU) pitches are available for £15 per night (booking ahead is highly recommended for EHU).

  • Facilities: The site includes a fresh water tap, grey waste disposal, and a chemical toilet cassette disposal point.

  • Access: On-site toilets are accessible to guests only during the pub's standard opening hours, but public toilets are also located just down the street.

  • Pet Policy: The venue is completely dog-friendly both in the car park and inside the pub.

Pub Atmosphere

The interior offers a casual, cozy, and old-fashioned British pub environment known for its warm hospitality toward locals and holidaymakers alike.

  • Layout: The premises feature a dedicated family room, a separate pool and darts room (housing two pool tables), and two outdoor beer gardens located at the front and back.

  • Weekly Entertainment: The pub has a packed events calendar from March through December. This includes cash bingo and live music on Tuesdays, free pool and darts on Wednesdays, and themed interactive weekend games like "Play Your Cards Right," "Open the Box," and stand-up bingo. Weekend karaoke and live vocalists keep the atmosphere energetic.

  • Sports: Live sports are broadcast daily on multiple screens throughout the bar.

Dining and Food options

The pub provides home-cooked traditional meals alongside diverse rotating food styles. Main kitchen service runs primarily from Friday to Sunday starting at 1:00 PM, with additional mid-week food events like Thursday curry nights.

  • The Menu: Offerings range from standard British pub fare—including burgers, fish and chips, and classic Sunday roasts—to specialized options like Jamaican street food and stone-baked pizzas supplied via local partnerships like Little Italy Pizza.

  • Drink Selection: The bar features a broad, reasonably priced selection of draft beers, wines, spirits, and well-reviewed pints of Guinness.

  • Flexible Off-Season Policy: During quieter mid-week periods or off-season months when the main kitchen is closed, management is famously accommodating—allowing travelers to bring their own food inside or order local takeaways directly to the pub tables.

Local Information

  • The Beach & Landmark: A short path leads straight onto Talacre Beach, famous for its vast sand dunes and the iconic, Grade II listed Point of Ayr Lighthouse standing on the shoreline.

  • Walking & Cycling: The area sits right on local nature trails, the Wales Coast Path, and expansive beachfront cycle paths.

  • Village Conveniences: Right on the pub's doorstep, you will find a traditional bakery (known for local pies and pastries), a fish and chip shop, a mini-mart, and a massive local hardware store for replacing forgotten travel supplies.

  • Proximity: The village is highly accessible, located just a 5-minute drive from Prestatyn and within easy commuting distance of Chester, Conwy, and Llandudno.
(Note: Because the village sits in a low-lying coastal zone, the venue operates in a flood-risk area and may occasionally close at short notice during severe coastal weather weather alerts.)
