Campervan and Motorhome Stopovers

The site provides well-equipped facilities specifically tailored for motorhomes and campervans, making it highly popular with the touring community: 

  • Pitches: Offers a mix of flat hardstanding pitches and designated green circle pitches, with options for metered Electric Hook-Ups (EHU). 

  • Size Limits: Accepts touring vehicles up to a maximum length of 8.0 metres, including bike racks (excluding trailers or tow cars). 

  • Vehicle Restrictions: Excludes heavy goods vehicles (HGVs) and commercial vehicle conversions lacking rear side windows. 

  • Winter Bookings: The campsite remains open all year round, but becomes strictly "self-sufficient only" during winter when the main facility block closes. 


On-Site Facilities

Guests staying overnight have full access to upgraded infrastructure designed for comfort and ease: 

  • Shower Block: Features a custom-built facility with 4 private cubicles containing a WC, shower, washbasin, and free hairdryer (open Easter to early November).

  • Service Points: Includes a dedicated fresh-water filling station, alongside grey-water and black-water chemical waste disposal points.

  • Dog Friendly: Extremely welcoming to pets; up to 3 dogs are permitted per booking free of charge but must be kept on a lead.

  • Family Spaces: Includes a free outdoor play park for children, alongside a seasonal indoor soft-play zone for children under 7.

  • Accessibility: Entirely step-free and wheelchair-friendly across a flat, single-level terrain. 


Dining and the Café

The highly rated on-site café serves as the social heart of the location, emphasizing sustainability and local sourcing: 

  • The Setting: Features an adjacent outdoor decking area overlooking tranquil, spring-fed lochans.

  • Menu Offerings: Celebrated for hearty breakfasts, freshly prepared lunches, daily specials, and an array of home-baked cakes and traybakes.

  • Dietary Needs: Provides versatile choices catering to gluten-free, dairy-free, vegetarian, and vegan dietary requirements.

  • Eco Practices: Utilizes compostable containers, eco-friendly cleaning agents, and strict recycling methods. 


The Fishery

Anglers can take advantage of the private, spring-fed lakes seamlessly integrated into the landscape: 

  • Fly Fishing Lochan: A clear 4.5-acre body of water well-stocked with Rainbow, Blue, and Brown Trout.

  • Bait Fishing Lochan: Separate pond option available for varied angling styles and family fishing.

  • Tackle and Hire: Rod hire and essential fishing gear are available directly from the on-site shop.

The surrounding region offers a balance of history, dramatic scenery, and village charm: 

  • Moffat Town Centre: Located a flat 10-minute walk from the campsite. This historic spa conservation town is famous for its independent shops, vibrant pubs, and traditional eateries like the popular Black Bull Inn.

  • Outdoor Exploration: Nestled near the Southern Uplands, the area is prime territory for nature trails, kayaking, and hill walking.

  • Local Landmarks: A short drive away lies the Grey Mare's Tail nature reserve, a dramatic 60-metre hanging valley waterfall perfect for hiking.
