Motorhome & Campervan Stopovers

  • Access: Open 24 hours a day for traveller convenience.

  • Fees: Parking is entirely free, though overnight guests are strongly encouraged to scan the on-site QR code to leave a donation (typically £10) to support the facility's maintenance.

Dining Options

The community spaces ensure you don't have to cook inside your van for every meal:

  • Seaboard Centre Café - Open Tuesday to Friday from 9:30 AM to 3:00 PM (lunches served until 2:30 PM). This bright, modern space serves hearty traditional Scottish breakfasts (featuring Stornoway black pudding), light lunches (like ploughman's platters), signature locally roasted coffees, and freshly baked cakes.

  • The Balintore Inn - Located just down the road, this local pub offers robust, hearty dinners 7 nights a week (and all-day dining on weekends). It serves local fish dishes, steaks, and a broad range of vegetarian and vegan options.

Local Information & Attractions

Balintore is one of three historic fishing communities known collectively as the Seaboard Villages (alongside Hilton and Shandwick). Right from the doorstep of your van, you can enjoy:

  • The Mermaid of the North: A striking 10-foot bronze statue perched on a rock in the water just a short walk down the shoreline.

  • Pictish Trail: The area is rich in ancient history. The centre marks the original base of the Hilton of Cadboll Pictish Stone.

  • Shandwick Beach: An award-winning, pristine sandy beach ideal for walks.

  • Wildlife Spotting: The Moray Firth is famous for its resident pod of bottlenose dolphins; seals, porpoises, and seabirds are regularly seen from the car park.

  • Village Conveniences: The centre itself houses the local Post Office and a small community library. A short walk into the village brings you to local Spar shops for grocery restocking.
